Description

Focus groups are an important qualitative research tool. However, it can often be difficult to gather a group of 6-8 individuals face-to-face for a session. An alternative to the face-to-face group is an on-line focus group. It can save time and travel costs for the participants and make recruitment easier. In this workshop, we will explore:

1) Advantages and disadvantages of an on-line focus group

2) How facilitation differs in an on-line group versus a face-to-face group

3) The steps to conducting an on-line focus group

4) Software that can be used for on-line focus groups

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
